As I write this Peace edition, I reflect that October was perhaps not the most peaceful month for me. In other words, I was not as peaceful as I could have been. With self-imposed deadlines and feelings of pressure, I started to slip from being in the present moment. Instead, I was beginning to get caught up in future outcomes. With a heavy writing schedule, as I put the final pieces together of my manuscript, I even felt some pressure about writing this newsletter! I thought, how will I get it all done? What would you the reader think, I pondered, if it ended up being less than you anticipated? My inner voice told me to let go. I listened. (I learned long ago to pay attention when my heart speaks!) It told me that there is no requirement as to the length of my writing, and no expectation or judgment from others. It will be what it is, and as it needs to be. And that's okay! In fact, it's just perfect. I realized that it was time to re-align with my creative process and allow the harmonious flow of the moment. Time to reconnect soul to spirit, and to take steps to peace. And the feeling of peace envelops me as I write this to you today. Smile... :) It is so easy for us to get derailed and off balance if we let it! Have you also been experiencing something lately that has you feeling less than peaceful? I find that whatever we are experiencing, so many others are experiencing the same thing! This month, my monthly intention is to be more peaceful, and in my podcast I'll share with you my 10 Small Steps to Create Inner Peace. May peace be with you.
In this day and age, it saddens me to see that the barbarism of war still exists and not been eradicated completely. Have we not learned from the past? But what can we - you and I - do? Each one of us is responsible for the greater whole. Every time we think negatively, feel negatively, behave or act negatively, we add that energy to the collective. Knowingly or not, and whether physically demonstrated or not. What we can do is be more conscious of how we are contributing to a peaceful world. We can start with our inner selves: think peaceful thoughts, feel peaceful emotions, and behave in a peaceful manner. Then, we can extend it to our outer world. We can be peaceful in our work and service to others, be peaceful in our relationships, and be at peace with all that surrounds us, from our environment and nature, to our homes and possessions. It is not enough to promote peace, to talk about peace, or to preach peace. We have to practice peace. We each must become - must embody - peace. To be a planet that is peaceful, we must be peaceful.
This month's message is from Linda Goodman's beautifully illustrated Star Cards. Card Name: "Star of Magi" The write-up on this card, in the companion book, is too large to quote in its entirety here, however, I will quote it in part.
